Garra Rufa fish (also known as Doctor Fish and Little Dermatologist) are small tropical fish that were first discovered in the 19th century in the hot springs near Kangal, a small town in Turkey. They have been recognised for their numerous healing benefits and effectiveness in exfoliating, cleansing and softening of the skin by bathers for centuries. Their suction-cupped shaped mouths are perfect for gently lifting dry skin away and removing rough patches without damaging the healthy new cells underneath. It has been claimed they help to regulate the nervous system, increase blood circulation, relax you and release tension, by stimulating acupuncture and reflexology points. Regular treatment has been shown to greatly improve skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
On arriving at Suckyfish you will be asked to complete a short health questionnaire. Your feet or hands will be cleansed using water, before you submerge them in our specially designed tanks. You can then relax with a cup of herbal tea or water, read a magazine or newspaper whilst letting the fish work their magic!
